Nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism can be corrected permanently with a safe, simple, and effective laser eye procedure. Yes, eyeglasses or contact lenses will also address those refractive conditions, but if you would enjoy the freedom of not having to rely so heavily upon your corrective lenses, and maybe even getting rid of them, we at IC Laser Eye Care are here to help.
Our LASIK in Philadelphia is done with no traditional cutting, causes no scarring, and does not require any stitches or bandages afterward. The procedure has a success rate of about 90%, and our eye surgeon has tremendous experience doing it, so you can be confident. Before the surgery begins, you will be given anesthetic eye drops that will numb your eyes to ensure that you don’t feel anything. A small flap of your cornea will be opened up, after which the laser will be used to gently reshape your corneal tissue. The flap is then closed and resealed. That’s all there is to it. You may notice some eye dryness briefly when our LASIK in Philadelphia is completed, but we will give you prescription eye drops that are designed to keep your eyes moist and prevent an infection. Blurry vision may occur in some people for a day or two, but the majority of patients will notice the improvement in their vision the next day, or even later the same day. At minimum, you should be able to withhold your prescription lenses more often than you used to. With a little luck, you may be able to simply discard them. On the day of surgery, you should eat lightly and take any of your normal prescription medications unless our eye surgeon advises you differently. Please don’t wear eye makeup or hair accessories that day.
Our LASIK in Philadelphia is an outstanding way to get far superior vision at all distances. Just call us to book an exam and consultation to determine if you are a good candidate for it.
